19 players and two goalkeepers initially in the squad / Seidenberg represents Ehrhoff as captain
National coach Marco Sturm announced his squad shortly before the German national ice hockey team's opening World Cup game against Team USA (live from 20 p.m. on SPORT1). Accordingly, the German selection starts the home tournament with 21 players (19 players and two goalkeepers).
Mannheim's Sinan Akdag and David Wolf as well as keeper Felix Brückmann (Grizzlys Wolfsburg). Captain Christian Ehrhoff (Köner Haie) will also miss the start of the World Cup with an upper body injury, according to team doctor Dr. Andreas Gröger (Klinikum Rechts der Isar, Munich) announced.
Dennis Seidenberg (New York Islanders) takes over Ehrhoff's role as captain against Team USA. Its representatives are called Moritz Müller (Kölner Haie) and Marcus Kink (Adler Mannheim).
