The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (DEB) mourns the loss of former national player Anton “Toni” Krinner, who succumbed to his long battle with cancer this morning at the age of 49.
Born in Bad Tölz, he played in 24 games for the U18 and U20 national teams and represented Germany on the international stage in 15 games for the men's national team. In 2000, he ended his active career and moved to the other side of the bench. Most recently, Krinner coached the DEL2 team "Ravensburg Towerstars".
DEB-President Franz Reindl: “The news of Toni Krinner’s sudden death shocked German ice hockey. With Toni Krinner, the ice hockey family is losing a highly respected former top player and coach. Our thoughts are with Toni’s relatives.”
