Off we go: The qualifying tournament for the 06 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang starts for the women's national team tomorrow at 30:2018 a.m. German time. At the start of the tournament, the team led by women's national coach Benjamin Hinterstocker will face France. The French women were able to get the last ticket for qualification in Tomakomai (Japan) on home ice in December, completing the field of participants alongside Japan, Austria and Germany.
The DEB-Selection traveled to Japan on Friday after joint preparation in Füssen. “After a long but problem-free journey, we are now getting along well with the time difference, the food and the culture and feel at home here. The training sessions and also the friendly match against Korea were good. Now we are looking forward to it starting tomorrow,” said Hinterstocker at the press conference in the Japanese port city.
While Japan is considered favorite by the other three nations with a slight location advantage, everyone still agrees that there will be six games at a high level. “I think that all teams here have a good chance of having a positive tournament. “We want to show our best ice hockey here and that’s what we’re concentrating on,” said captain Julia Zorn.
After the German women's game against France, the hosts will then face Austria. All games are here. to see live.
