The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (DEB) takes a broader stance: Karl Schwarzenbrunner will DEB in the future as a competitive sports representative/instructor. The 38-year-old sports scientist will be primarily responsible for the organization, coordination and implementation of trainer training and further education.
"Until now, we have had an inconsistent training strategy for coaches in German ice hockey. For several years, work in many areas was decentralized and not very coordinated. That is no longer up to date and should change in the future," said national coach for science and training, Stefan Schaidnagel. "I think that in Karl we have found an experienced and competent worker who is familiar with both the sporting and the coaching areas." Schwarzenbrunner will work in the young talent and top divisions on developing new competitive sports concepts and, among other things, on the organization and development of the DEB-Contribute to the coaching academy.
The native of Lower Bavaria most recently worked as an athletic trainer for FC Wacker Innsbruck in the 1st Bundesliga in Austria. “I am looking forward to my new tasks. I see a lot of development potential, particularly in the area of trainer training and further education.”
