May 8th with Germany-Russia before the sell-out – Only just under 900 tickets left
Cologne, January 10.01.2017th, 2017 - The demand for tickets for the 5 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship (May 21th - XNUMXst in Cologne and Paris) remains unbroken at the beginning of the World Cup year. Now the fourth World Cup matchday is in Cologne LANXESS arena, namely Monday May 8th, 2017, before the sale. The absolute classic Germany-Russia (currently second in the world rankings) will be played there in the afternoon at 16:15 p.m., followed by the other top game USA-Sweden (20:15 p.m.).
There are only just under 900 tickets available in the middle seating categories 2, 3 and 4 for this match day, as well as attractive hospitality offers in the combination of top seats and a first-class catering offer in the “Backstage” restaurant. Categories 1 and 5 are already completely sold out.
“It is no wonder that this match day is particularly popular, as three of the five best ice hockey nations in the world will be showing off their skills in Cologne on that Monday,” explains Henner Ziegfeld, General Secretary of the 2017 IIHF World Championship, adding: “In addition, the German Fans just like the numerous members of the Russian community Nordrhein-Westfalen to another of the many World Championship duels of the German national ice hockey team against the great Russian 'Sbornaja'. Already at the 2010 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, both Fangroups sold out Cologne in two matches LANXESS arena into a peaceful and happy ice hockey madhouse. Who doesn't remember how a sensationally triumphant German team had the star-studded Russian team on the brink of defeat for a long time in the semi-finals?"
It is therefore unlikely that the games on May 8 will make it into the single ticket sales that begin in the spring. For all those who want to be there live on this big ice hockey day in Cologne, the motto is now: “Get ready!”
May 13, 2017 is also becoming more and more of a "super Saturday" in Cologne with three games. Here, Germany will face the Italians, who are always uncomfortable in ice hockey, at 20:15 p.m. Before that, there is the Latvia-USA match at 12:15 p.m., followed by Russia-Slovakia at 16:15 p.m. There are only about 2.800 tickets left for this match day. There are no more tickets available in category 5 for this day.
