4-0 win against Austria in the first World Cup preparation game
The German U18 women's national team won their first preparation game 4-0 (2-0/2-0/0-0) against Austria.
The German U18 women took the lead 1-0 in the fourth minute of the game through Katharina Ott. Shortly before the end of the first third, Lea Welcke made it 2-0 at halftime with a hidden shot from the blue line. Five minutes had been played in the second third when Naemi Bär deflected a shot into the Austrian goal for a 3-0 lead. Four minutes later, Franziska Feldmeier successfully completed a solo effort to take a 4-0 lead. The final third was goalless and the game ended 4-0 for the German team.
Tommy Kettner, Federal Young talent coach U18 women: “The girls played a good game after the first week of preparation. In the second part of the preparation we will focus more on tactical behavior. Outnumbering and outnumbering will be big parts of the training.”
