Germany meets Latvia twice / Last test before the World Cup
The German national ice hockey team's preparation program for the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Cologne and Paris (May 5th - 21st, 2017) will be completed with the two games against Latvia. Five days before the start of the home World Cup, national coach Marco Sturm's team is testing against Latvia as part of the Euro Hockey Challenge in Bietigheim (April 30, 04.2017/20.15:01.05.2017 p.m.) and Ravensburg (May 18.00, 1/XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.). SPORTXNUMX will broadcast both games live and exclusively.
The last test match in Ravensburg was in 2015, when the national team met France and won 4-3. Bietigheim hosted the Olympic qualifiers in February 2013. Before that, the last international match was against Denmark in 2008. The national team defeated their northern neighbors 3-0.
The Euro Hockey Challenge is now an established and high-class game format as a direct preparation for the World Cup in the general plan of the European nations. In the remaining weeks shortly before the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Cologne, players active abroad will also take part alongside the DEL players.
