The Deutscher Eishockey-Bund (DEB) welcomes the decision of the 14 DEL clubs to stick to the current practice of foreigner regulations. This stipulates that each DEL club can sign up to eleven foreign players per season, but can only use nine of them per DEL game. The decision supports the efforts of the DEBto sustainably promote German young talent. At the same time, a further reduction in the foreign quota should not be ignored in the future.
Franz Reindl, President of the DEB: “By maintaining the existing regulations, the DEL shareholders have a lot of foresight and trust in the joint efforts of DEL and DEB At the same time, it is a clear commitment to the long-term and sustainable development of young German ice hockey talent in the spirit of POWERPLAY 26.”
