The Berlinhe has been touring the world for several years with tennis stars such as Angelique Kerber and Mikhail Youzhny / "Berliner Schnauze" amuses the national team
The arrival of the national players to Deutschland-Cup is manageable. The BerlinJonas Müller and the Wolfsburg trio Felix Brückmann, Gerrit Fauser and Björn Krupp have the longest journey to Augsburg. Normally, national coach Marco Sturm is the one who has to cover the longest route to Germany from his home in Florida. Sturm no longer has anything to do with jet lag; after all, he has been back in Germany for almost ten days.
Things look completely different with André Kreidler. Over 12.000 kilometers and 15 hours of flying time are currently in the bones of the physiotherapist who, together with his Munich colleague Martin Abraham, looks after the physical well-being of the national players.
The background for Kreidler's trip around the world: the native BerlinHe also looks after the best tennis player in the world, Angelique Kerber. Kreidler has just completed her Asian tour with the German world number one, including the women's world championship in Singapore that has just ended. “I've been on the road for five weeks now and am in on Tuesday morning Berlin “landed and then flew on to Munich in the afternoon,” smiles the “Physio” a little tiredly. The short stay was just enough to pack up fresh clothes.
Kreidler embodies what one would expect from a “Berlinhe calls “snout”. Someone who always has a quick or funny saying on their lips. It's not uncommon for people to laugh heartily at the team dinner when Kreidler gets going. “If you ask him something, you never actually get a sensible answer,” grins national coach Marco Sturm and confirms: “Everyone has already gotten rid of their fat, including me.”
Which is totally okay. It is very important to the national coach that fun is not neglected at work. After all, his players should also feel comfortable off the ice. A functioning staff team is just as important for Sturm as a harmonious team on the ice. From the bus driver to the supervisors to the physiotherapists, everything has to be right. Sturm nods: “The collective is the be-all and end-all. We are a team and we are all equal.”
Kreidler knows exactly the feeling of being part of a large team. From 2005 to 2011 he was at ERC Ingolstadt worked in the DEL, then traveled through the ATP world with tennis stars Mikhail Youzhny, Janko Tipsarevic, Oliver Marach and Sergey Stakhovsky. A real globetrotter. “You see a lot of interesting places and get around quite a bit,” says Kreidler, who also works for them at times Eisbären Berlin is working.
After the national team's successful Olympic qualification in Riga, they continued on to Singapore via Wuhan, Beijing and Hong Kong. Of course there is also the other side of the coin. “You're away from home for a long time and basically just live in a hotel. “Over time, the travel becomes more and more of a substance,” explains Kreidler, who repeatedly emphasizes that “it’s still a lot of fun.”
ANDRÉ KREIDLER ABOUT MARKUS FLEMMING
“It’s a shame that Flemming is there, after all he’s by far the oldest person in the whole team.”
Like with the national team. That too BerlinThe fact that friend and mental coach Markus Flemming is there in Augsburg makes things even more interesting for outsiders. After all, the two hardly miss a chance to tease each other. “It's a shame that Flemming is there, after all he's by far the oldest person in the whole team,” says Kreidler without batting an eye. The qualified sports psychologist's counterattack follows immediately: "Well, Kreidler can at least wash his face up to the neck."
There's a certain amount of humor going on these days Deutschland Cup in any case be taken care of...
