Four weeks after their first course in July, the German U18 women's national team will meet in Füssen from August 18th to 21st, 2016 for the second preparatory course for the 2016/2017 international season. Four goalkeepers, eight defenders and twelve strikers make up the squad for the measure.
The girls will be asked onto the ice six times within four days by the coaching team led by U18 women's national coach Tommy Kettner. Performance tests on and off the ice are also on the agenda.
Tommy Kettner: “While we focused primarily on putting together this year’s World Cup team during the first ice training course in Füssen, in the coming training sessions we will concentrate on tactical and strategic game design. Our goal must be to maximally promote the ice hockey-specific characteristics of the players in order to be appropriately prepared for the upcoming international matches at the German Unity Cup in Selb. There we will meet the national teams of Austria, the Czech Republic and Russia.”
