The U20 national team won the last game of the Summer Hockey Challenge in Dresden 4:1 (1:0; 2:1; 1:0) against the Czech Republic and thus secured second place in the tournament.
The DEB-The selection presented itself with commitment from the start and was able to reward its performance in the first third with Yannic Drews' opening goal (19:44). The team around BundesYoung talent coach Christina Künast didn't let up in the second half of the game either. Despite the interim equalizer, the Germans created good chances and used two outnumbered situations to restore the lead, initially through Tobias Eder (31:09) and ultimately even extend it to 3:1 (Julian Napravnik / 32:06). In the final third, Julian Napravnik (54:19) sealed the final score of 4:1 from a German perspective with his second goal of the evening. The DEBThe selection was able to secure second place in the tournament behind Switzerland. Slovakia came third and the Czech Republic fourth.
U20 national coach Christian Künast was satisfied with his team's performance after the end of the tournament: “We deserved to win today thanks to a united team management. Overall, we were able to improve from game to game over the course of the tournament.”
