Unfortunately, coach Steffen Ziesche's U18s were unable to confirm the strong result of the first game. In a thrilling match there was a narrow 5:4 defeat against the Swiss. The Swiss junior team got off to a better start and secured an early victory after a hat-trick within two minutes. The German selection didn't give up after that but fought their way up again. Stachowiak shortly before and shortly after the first period break was able to reduce the gap to 2:3. But the Swiss were always able to improve. So Ugbekile and Fischer could only shorten the score. In the end it was 4:5 from a German perspective in front of 100 spectators in Davos.
Coach Steffen Ziesche: "Internationally, you have to play 60 minutes of ice hockey at the highest level, 40 are not enough. Nevertheless, compliments to the team, we showed a combative performance, especially after falling behind."
