The women's national team qualifying tournament for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang (South Korea) will take place in Tomakomai, Japan. The IIHF announced this yesterday afternoon.
The German selection will meet the hosts, Austria and another qualifier from February 9th to 12th on Japan's northern island of Hokkaido.
In the other qualifying group, the Swiss will face the Czech Republic, Denmark and a qualifier in Arosa/Switzerland.
The top five nations in the world, USA, Canada, Russia, Sweden and Finland, as well as Korea as host of the games, are automatically qualified. The top two teams from the qualifying tournaments in Arosa and Tomakomai will complete the field of participants.
