The U18 national team won the test match for the upcoming 2016 IIHF U18 Ice Hockey World Championship Div.I in Minsk/Belarus in Brno, Czech Republic, 5:1 (1:0; 2:0; 2:1) against World Cup opponent Austria.
Rick Böhm: "We had a hard time today, especially at the beginning of the match against a very well-disposed Austrian team. We were inferior for long stretches, but we knew how to use our scoring opportunities. In the end, the game was fairly even. I think it should have been the right signal for the team to see how difficult it will be to get promoted in Minsk!"
The next game is against Switzerland on April 2nd at 12.00 p.m.
