Liebsch: “Performed as a compact unit” / Today against Norway
The U16 national team also won their second game yesterday with 4:0 (0:0; 1:0; 3:0) against Denmark.
The German team created numerous chances in the first third, but were unable to convert them into goals. Since the Danes didn't score either, the score remained 0-0 at halftime.
It took until just before the middle of the second period before the German team was able to capitalize on their chances and take a 1-0 lead. The Danes responded with some dangerous attacks, but they were unable to score.
Only a minute had been played in the final third when the German team increased their lead to 2-0. Three minutes later, coach Uli Liebsch's team made a small preliminary decision in this game with a 3-0 win. In the 12th minute of the game, the final score of the game was 4-0.
Uli Liebsch: “We performed as a compact unit and absolutely deserved the win. Now we’re looking forward to the semi-final game against Norway, where we want to improve our performance again.”
Hendrik Hane was named the best German player.
