Manuela Anwander raised the Germans' hopes again with her goal in the 46th minute. Benjamin Hinterstocker took Schroeder off the ice in favor of a sixth field player just under a minute before the end of the game, but it was not to be: The Germans could not find a way to equalize and ultimately had to accept an empty-net goal to make the final score 1:3.
The official award ceremony will take place this evening after the last tournament game between France and Denmark (20.00 p.m.) in the ice rink in Aalborg. In addition to Germany, Austria, France and/or Denmark also have a chance of winning a medal, depending on the outcome of the last game.
