Künast: “Fighting performance was not rewarded” / Tomorrow against Lillehammer
The U19 national team played its first game at the international tournament in Salzburg with 0:3 (0:0; 0:2; 0:1) against the hosts Red Bull Salzburg verloren.
In the first third, the spectators saw a balanced game, with neither team able to take advantage of their chances and score a goal. In the second third, Red Bull used a power play to take a 0-1 lead. A few minutes later Germany received a 5min + game misconduct penalty. In the five minutes that followed, the home team was able to increase the lead to 0:2. Salzburg then dominated the game. In the final third, the German team fought its way back into the game, but was unable to overcome the Salzburg goalkeeper, who was in a good mood. Shortly before the end of the game, Christian Künast took the goalkeeper off the ice in favor of a sixth field player and Salzburg took advantage of this to make the final score 0-3 with an empty net goal.
Lucas Dumont was named the best German player.

Tomorrow the German team will face the Lillehammer Academy team at 14:30 p.m.
