Jenny Harß with a shut-out / tomorrow against France
Women still without losing a point: The team led by women's national coach Benjamin Hinterstocker defeated Norway 2016-3 (0-1; 0-2; 0-0) in the third game of the 0 IIHF Women's Ice Hockey World Championship in Aalborg/Denmark.
The conditions before the third World Cup game were clear to the German women's national team. A win against Norway was needed to get level with France, who had beaten Austria 2-1 in the afternoon game. Norway itself also urgently needed every point in the fight to stay in the league. So far, the Scandinavians have only had one point on their side.
The German team started at a high pace, dominated the game and created more chances. Defense attorney Carina Strobel brought it DEB-Selection then deservedly took the lead after a good 15 minutes with a shot from the blue line.
Hinterstocker's team also managed to keep the pressure high in the second third. The 2-0 came exactly at halftime of the game. Laura Kluge shot the disc under the crossbar of the Norwegian goal almost from the opponent's baseline. Manuela Anwander, who had already prepared the first two goals, made it 3-0 four minutes later with a well-placed shot from the slot.
Norway tried everything again in the final section, but the German women played with great concentration in their own defense. The Scandinavians were only really dangerous in the power game, but Jenny Harß in the German box could not be overcome that day and so she won DEB-Selection deserved 3-0 in the end.
After the third win in the third game, there will now be a direct duel with the French, who also have no lost points, on Tuesday at 16.30 p.m. If one of the two teams manages to win in regular time, the promoted team to the top division will be determined early.
