28 players nominated for preparation / Two test games in Füssen

Final touches: The women's national team will meet from March 16th - 22.03.2016nd, 2016 at the Federal Performance Center in Füssen to prepare directly for the 25 IIHF Women's Ice Hockey World Championship Div.I in Aalborg/Denmark (March 31.03th - 28st). Women's national coach Benjamin Hinterstocker has called XNUMX players into the provisional squad.

Five goalkeepers, nine defenders and 14 strikers will take part in the course in Allgäu. In addition to training sessions and team building measures, the program also includes two preparation games. On Friday (March 18.03th / 14.30:XNUMX p.m.) the DEB-Selection of the US college team “East Coast Wizzards” and on Sunday (March 20.03th / 16.00 p.m.) the direct World Cup competitor from Austria.

Benjamin Hinterstocker: “Our common goal must be to prepare ourselves as a team almost optimally for the upcoming games in the short amount of time in Füssen. In this regard, I see, on the one hand, the unity of the team and, on the other hand, our ice hockey. The two games give us the opportunity to use the processes, mechanisms and ice hockey-specific details acquired in training in competitive situations.”

Tommy Kettner (Assistant coach of the women's national team): “In training we will work intensively on group tactics and on possible game-deciding segments. The team can definitely and undisputedly play ice hockey successfully. We as trainers have to exploit this potential, promote it and allow it.”

Since only 20 players and three goalkeepers are allowed to register for the World Cup, the squad will have to be reduced by five positions. The final line-up will be announced before departure to Denmark (Wednesday, March 23.03rd).
