U17 national team: narrow defeat at the start of the 4-nation tournament
At the U17 Four Nations Tournament in Füssen, the German U17 lost to Switzerland 2-3 in their first game.
In a fast-paced and balanced first third, the German team was able to take the lead with the first power play. However, the Swiss were able to immediately equalize Phillip Sander's lead, as well as Timo Gams' 2-1 a few minutes later, and so we went into the first break with a draw.
Coach Jochen Molling's players got into the game well in the second period and were able to test the opposing goalie time and again. But despite their superiority, nothing came of it. In the end, it was the Swiss who took the lead for the first time in the match.
After an even final third without any further goals, the German U17 started the home tournament after a good performance with an unfortunate 2-3 defeat.
Today it hits DEB-Selection at 18.30 p.m. on Slovakia. The Slovaks clearly won their opening match against Denmark 4-0.
Jochen Molling: “We played with commitment today. We should have made better use of our chances, especially in the second third, as the Swiss were more callous. It’s a shame that despite a good performance, the team couldn’t reward themselves with a win at the start.”

U18 national team is defeated by Switzerland
The U18 national team lost to the Swiss 1:3 (0:1; 0:2; 1:0) in the opening game of the Vado Dzurilla tournament in Slovakia.
André Dietzsch: "In the first two thirds, we didn't play what we're capable of and didn't implement what was required. So the 3-0 lead for Switzerland was completely acceptable. In the final period, we focused on our strengths and implemented the points we had set out to achieve better. The bottom line is that it's always good to have games at this level, but we can't be satisfied with today's performance."
The U18s face Belarus today at 13.30:XNUMX p.m.
