Am 15. February German and Turkish national teams meet for the first time. This game marks the starting signal for a cooperation between the two associations and the EC Bad Tölz. In addition to the primary integrative and cultural exchange, the Turkish women's national team is using the time in Tölz to prepare for the World Cup in Division II at the end of February in Jaca, Spain. The ten-day training camp is led by German trainers (e.g. Michael Elmer, DEBgoalkeeping coach) to provide the Turkish trainers with know-how, which they can then use in their home country.
Due to the class difference, young talented players are primarily used for Germany in the comparison. The result plays a minor role anyway, as the Turkish women should primarily gain experience at the top level.
Football star Mesut Özil and the two ice hockey professionals Yasin Eliz (Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers) and Sinan Akdag (Adler Mannheim). The latter are top performers in the German national team as well as in their DEL clubs and real stars in the up-and-coming Turkish ice sports scene.a
In addition to the sporting competition, there will also be an extensive supporting program. In addition to a raffle for signed jerseys from Özil, Ehliz and Akdag, there will be a shooting range with speed measurement and information stands from the ice hockey associations. A tea stand and Turkish specialties will be provided for the physical well-being.
Of course, high-ranking representatives from sports and politics are expected at such an event. Next to DEB-President Franz Reindl, the Consul General from Munich has also announced his presence. Even sports reporters who flew in from Turkey have registered and will report on the event together with a television team.
