The U20 national team was able to leave the ice as winners after two of three games at the tournament in Poprad (SVK).
After a good team performance against strong Slovakia on Thursday (1:2 (1:1; 0:0; 0:1)), the team rewarded itself yesterday Friday with a 4:3 victory (1:0; 2:1; 1:2) against direct World Cup opponents Norway. Federal Young Talent Coach Künast praised his team after the game: "We worked hard today, but we must not let it get too close at the end, but must stick consistently to the game plan until the end."
This Saturday was the last game of the tournament against the Swiss. After a hard-fought three game periods, they secured this DEBteam secured the victory thanks to Maximilian Kammerer's goal in the penalty shootout. Künast was satisfied: "We showed a very good fighting performance today, which was ultimately rewarded. Overall, we can be satisfied with how the tournament went."
