International ice hockey will soon be making a stop in Deggendorf: from February 8th to 13.02.2016th, 5, the annual 19-nation tournament for the UXNUMX national team will take place in the ice stadium at Trat. In addition to Sweden and Finland, the German national team will meet the Czech Republic and Switzerland.
“The fact that we were awarded the contract shows that we are noticed by the association and is also recognition for our good young talent work,” says Artur Frank, chairman of the Deggendorf Ice Skating Club.
The Deggendorf ice rink was renovated in 2013 and now offers enough changing rooms and other sports facilities nearby to host a major international tournament. "Deggendorf now has optimal conditions and the club is known for its good work with young talent. As a Landshut resident, I am also very happy that the tournament is taking place in Lower Bavaria," says U20 national coach Christian Künast.
“The tournament will be at the highest European level and an advertisement for ice hockey,” said tournament director Michael Bakos. Last year the tournament was held in Gothenburg, Sweden. The winners were hosts Sweden.
Two games are played each day in the afternoon and evening. The concrete game plan follows.
