Seitz only German goalscorer / Hinterstocker: “Showed a good performance for 60 minutes”
The women's national team lost 1:3 (0:2; 0:0; 1:1) to Team Russia in the second of three games in Füssen.
The DEB-Selection started the game much better today than the day before and was able to put the Russian team under good pressure right from the start. Nevertheless, it was the Russians who had luck on their side before the first third break and were able to go ahead with two goals. After a balanced middle section, women's national coach Benjamin Hinterstocker reduced the number to three lines in the final third and the team managed to increase the pressure on the Russian goal again. But it wasn't to be: once again it was Team Russia who brought the puck over the goal line just under eleven minutes before the end of the game and were able to increase their lead to three goals. Julia Seitz's goal in the 58th minute of the game was also meant to be DEB-Selection could no longer help them win and so the German team lost 1:3 to the guests from Russia.
Benjamin Hinterstocker, national coach of the women's national team: “Even though we lost today, I have to praise the team. We worked well for 60 minutes and delivered a performance that we can build on.”
